Huge Update!

Hey all it’s been a minute. It’s been a… year. Battling my physical and mental health, and trying to get my head above water in his insane country. But there’s been a palpable shift, and I’m feeling a lot of hope for the first time in a while.

Long story short, my family went through a very traumatic loss that has put a lot of things in perspective. I’ve done some job hunting this year, trying to get a leg up with no success, and the family shift has motivated me to do something radical. During the whole awful process I was stuck at a pretty terrible job that gave me no support in my grief, so I decided to cut them loose abruptly. I’ve had a couple commissions this month to give me a bump, and I’m realizing how sustainable this work is if I actually have time and I’m not burnt out after work. So rather quickly, I’m doing art full time!

I’ve never been a very spiritual person, but the energy shift I felt last week was incredible. I emailed half a dozen local shops asking them to shelve my books, and discovered a local Animal Rescue that rents retail space to artists. The collection is curated to art involving nature and I feel so welcome among this group of artist.

If you’re in the Fredericksburg area, the shop is called Awesome Possumz, and I’ll be doing a grand opening on Saturday, August 10 from 2pm-4pm. I hope to see you there!
